An Initial Consultation appointment is your first appointment with ASLLS. It helps our clinicians identify your areas of main concern, develop a client history and a plan towards moving forward. Discussing these areas can help to identify if any assessment that might be necessary for your dependents.
For those clients that find it difficult to attend the clinic, we do offer mobile sessions. Our assistant therapist can come to you at a time that is most convenient. We can also arrange for school visits, meetings with other medical professionals and child observations at school or in other social contexts.
Our Clinicians can assess a number of disorders, depending on their profession.
Once the assessment is completed and therapy goals have been identified, we can offer weekly or fortnightly sessions with our Head Clinicians. Our Head Clinicians work together to achieve full potential of the Multidisciplinary clinic.
*N.B – Please be advised that if a client has completed a standardised assessment before, it is valid for a period of 12 months. Please bring in any reports or documentation for initial consultation appointments.
After a Management Plan is established, a client may have the option of seeing our Allied Health Assistant (AHA). It is our way of providing less costly methods of intervention for suitable clients. AHA sessions are all mobile. Please enquire about your suitability.
The AHA implements a program that has been set up by your head clinician. The AHA records data and provides session feedback to parents/carers. They also work closely with the head clinician to monitor progress. Clients will continue to have Head Clinician appointments.
Group therapy sessions focus on create fun learning environments that cater to children with similar needs. They are mostly associated with school readiness, language, speech and social skills.
